Overview
We are working with a well-established organisation operating within the construction sector, seeking a driven and commercially astute Business Development Manager.
This role is ideal for a proactive individual with a strong track record in winning work and building client relationships within main contracting or a similar construction environment. You will play a key role in supporting the companys continued growth by identifying new opportunities and strengthening its market presence.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute strategic business development plans to secure new projects within the construction sector
Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building a strong and sustainable pipeline
Maintain and develop relationships with existing clients, consultants, and key industry stakeholders
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activity, and areas for growth
Prepare and deliver high-quality proposals, presentations, and tender submissions
Manage and track leads, opportunities, and activity through CRM systems
Work closely with internal teams to ensure client expectations and project requirements are met
Represent the business at industry networking events, exhibitions, and client meetings
Monitor and report on sales performance and pipeline activity
About You
Proven experience in a Business Development role within the construction industry (ideally main contracting)
Strong track record of winning new business and developing client relationships
Solid understanding of construction processes, project lifecycles, and industry standards
Experience using CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce or similar)
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
Commercially aware with a strategic mindset
Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently
