HGV Class 2 Driver

We are recruiting for Class 2 HGV Drivers to join our team at our client's busy logistics operation in Cambuslang.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers looking for ongoing, full-time work with a well-established operation. This role involves store and home deliveries, where you will be accompanied by a porter at all times. Heavy lifting will be required in this role, with deliveries including kitchen appliances, worktops, flooring, etc, into properties which could include 3rd or 4th floor flats. For this reason, a good level of fitness is required.

This is a full-time position working Tuesday to Saturday, starting between 6am and 7am each day, with potential for overtime paid at time and a half after 48 hours. The pay rate for this role is £16.73 per hour.

Your Time at Work

In this role, your duties will include:

• Driving a class 2 vehicle for deliveries to stores and homes
• Manual handling and lifting of heavy goods with the assistance of a porter
• Providing good customer service to end-users
• Ensuring all loads are secure and legally compliant
• Completing delivery paperwork and maintaining accurate records
• Following all on site and road safety regulations

Our Perfect Worker

Our ideal Class 2 Driver will have:

• A valid Class 2 (C) licence
• Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph card
• Experience in multi-drop and delivery HGV driving
• Ability to carry out manual handling and lifting tasks, including large appliances and heavy objects
• A reliable and punctual approach to work
• Ability to work well with others
• Customer service skills

Key Information and Benefits
