Brightwork are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit a Senior Payroll Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to join a busy and collaborative team, supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll services across the business.
Working closely with the Payroll Manager, you will play a key role in the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring compliance with legislation, maintaining payroll system integrity, and providing excellent support to employees and stakeholders.
This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong technical payroll knowledge, and enjoys identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the end-to-end delivery of monthly payrolls, ensuring accurate processing of pay, overtime, deductions and statutory payments.
- Validate payroll data, timesheets and approvals while maintaining accurate records and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with HMRC, PAYE, RTI, pension, GDPR and other statutory requirements.
- Support payroll audits, reporting and year-end processes.
- Assist with payroll system administration, troubleshooting and process improvements.
- Act as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries, providing support to employees and stakeholders.
- Administer pensions, auto-enrolment, employee benefits, reimbursements and statutory payments including SSP, SMP and SPP.
About You
We are looking for an experienced payroll professional who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Payroll Advisor or Senior Payroll Advisor position.
- A strong understanding of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
- Experience processing end-to-end payrolls within a complex business environment.
- Knowledge of payroll systems.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and general IT proficiency.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to explain payroll information clearly.
- A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential information.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to strict deadlines.
