Our client is currently recruiting a Head of Asset Management & Performance who will be accountable for maximizing the performance, availability, and effectiveness of all assets across their site. This role leads the development and execution of performance strategies, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective production.
You will combine strong technical expertise with exceptional leadership to drive a proactive culture of continuous improvement across the assets on site.
Responsibilities
Asset Performance
Own and drive the asset performance strategy for the plant
Ensure optimal asset performance through preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) processes to eliminate recurring equipment failures and improve long-term reliability.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as uptime, MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures), and maintenance costs.
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers, craft and apprentices.
Foster a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide clear direction, set expectations, and build leadership capability within the team.
Act as a key member of the site leadership team, influencing decision-making and operational strategy.
Maintenance Strategy & Execution
Implement best practices in reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) and asset management.
Optimize maintenance budgets while maintaining asset integrity and operational performance.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reduce downtime, and lower maintenance costs.
Drive performance improvement projects, including modernization and capital upgrades.
Champion data-driven decision-making using analytics and reliability tools.
Promote innovation and adoption of new technologies to enhance asset performance.
Safety & Compliance
Ensure all maintenance and associated activities comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture across the site.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or related discipline).
Significant experience in asset management and performance within (heavy) industry.
Proven track record of improving asset reliability and operational performance.
Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies and asset management systems.
Experience leading and developing high-performing technical teams.
