Seasonal Operative (Cemeteries)

We are looking for a hands-on Seasonal Operative (Cemeteries) to join a local authority team in Renfrewshire. This is a vital role ensuring that cemeteries are kept safe, tidy, and well maintained, and it is essential for the right candidate to be respectful of families and visitors while they are working.

Your Time at Work
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out basic maintenance across all 9 cemeteries in Renfrewshire.
Traveling between the sites will be part of the day to day for this role, because of this a current driving licence is preferred, however this is not a requirement as alternative travel arrangements can be provided.
Gardening duties such as strimming, litter picking, debris collection, and grass cutting.
Adhering to all health and safety requirements including the use of appropriate PPE (this is provided by the local authority).

We are looking for a candidate who will be considerate to visitors to the cemeteries, understanding the sensitive nature of this role.

Our Perfect Worker
Driving Licence: A valid Category B Licence is desirable for this role, but this is not a requirement.
Experience: A background in outdoor maintenance, landscaping, or a trade-based role using power tool.
Compliance: You must be able to pass a Basic Disclosure check.
Attitude: A safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently in all Scottish weather!

Key Information and Benefits
Pay Rate: £14.68 per hour (£543.13 per week)
Hours: 37 hours per week | Monday - Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 7:30am-3:00pm (flexibility for alternative hours may be required from time to time).
Duration: This is role is seasonal and will be required until October 2026.
Location: Paisley
Start Date: As soon as possible.
