The client

The is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced VP / Head of Research & Development with a global leader – an organisation with an exceptionally well-established global client base and a reputation for providing the highest standards of products for highly regulated sectors.

The role – VP / Head of Research & Development

You will have a challenging, variable and highly rewarding role leading, developing and managing a professional and high performing team of Research / Design and Development Engineers. With responsibility for ensuring the R & D function provide an outstanding service provision to all internal and external stakeholders, you will have a broad range of core duties and responsibilities including;

  • Lead all strategic and functional companywide Research & Development
  • Technical leadership and management of all companywide R & D activities
  • Daily operational management and control for companywide Research and Development
  • Recruitment, mentoring and development of a highly skilled R & D and associated disciplines Engineering team
  • Technical support, management and liaison with all potential, new and existing clients
  • Ensure product development / R & D meets all company, client and regulatory / industry standards
  • Liaison with all internal and external stakeholder groups in relation to Product design and development
  • Oversee and manage projects from initial concept through all development stages to completion and support scale – up into manufacture

Ideally a Chartered Engineer and possessing an associated MSc / Degree, you will have an in-depth background and experience leading and managing all elements of companywide design and development and R & D. A natural leader, you will have managed and developed teams of R & D professionals to ensure all companywide product development meet company and client product development and manufacture requirements. You will have excellent customer facing experience providing sound technical advice at all stages of product development and manufacture. Previous experience utilising SolidWorks and FEA design is essential, a background within the Oil and Gas component or associated sectors preferred.
