Brightwork are delighted to support a well-established chartered accountancy practice in Paisley in their search for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to cover a 9-month maternity leave. The Role
You’ll take full responsibility for your own portfolio of payroll clients, processing a variety of weekly, fortnightly, and monthly runs. This role offers the perfect blend of autonomy and collaboration, with a diverse client base spanning multiple industries and pay structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients across different pay frequencies

  • Maintain compliance with RTI, PAYE, NI, and auto-enrolment requirements

  • Handle client queries and build strong working relationships

  • Administer statutory payments and accurate HMRC submissions

  • Prepare payroll reports and maintain accurate records

  • Contribute to team projects and support continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience, ideally within a bureau or practice environment

  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation

  • Confident with BrightPay, Sage, Xero, or similar payroll systems

  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

  • A professional and approachable communicator

  • Discreet, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive data

CIS knowledge would be a bonus, but not essential.
