SHE Officer

Brightwork are supporting with the recruitment of a SHE Officer to join one of our prestigious manufacturing clients at their site on a Full Time, Permanent Basis. 

Reporting in to the she SHE Specialist, the SHE officer's duties include:

• Champion SHE excellence and Occupational Health (OH) for the site

• Provide practical advice on Safety and Occupational Health issues

• Manage, develop and implement Occupational Safety and Health systems to ensure compliance with Corporate and UK legislation

• Lead completion and review of Occupational Health and Safety risk assessments

• Ensure site wide implementation of chemicals legislation REACH, CLP and GHS requirements

• Provides support for the management of asbestos and legionella on site

• Provide technical advice and leadership to implement Safety and OH system improvements

• Conduct audits and inspections on Occupational Health and Safety standards

• Maintains a close working relationship with production and gains area specific SHE knowledge

• Preparation, delivery and co-ordination of Safety and Occupational Health training such as RPE and work at height

• Support SHE reporting and maintenance of relevant systems, accreditations and standards

• Prepare and revise SHE policies and procedures

• Maintain good relationships with external regulators

The ideal candidate:

• Successful candidate will have a degree in relevant subject with relevant industrial experience

• Experience of managing SHE within manufacturing/multi-project environment is desirable.  

• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, is essential.

• Candidates should have proven track record of competence in their respective discipline with excellent interpersonal skills.

• Other essential behaviours are self motivation, team player, good communication and auditing skills.
