Our well-known client based in Addiewell are looking for a Warehouse Operator to join their team on a temporary ongoing basis. The successful candidate will report into the warehouse / CPU team leader and be responsible for safe and efficient filling, storing, removal and disgorging of all casks as required by the team leader.

The working hours for this position will be Monday to Thursday 6am start equating to 35hrs per week at a rate of £15.36 p/h.

The successful candidate will be an proactive and 'hands on' operator, with experience working in an FMCG or warehousing environment. Comfortable working as part of a team towards shared targets, with a focus on safe operations at all times.

Your Time at Work
Main Responsibilities:

1. Ensuring that all cask handling and associated activities on site are carried out in accordance with the relevant work instruction, adhering to the necessary Company health, safety and environmental requirements and complying with all regulatory current legislation to maintain a safe working environment for all employees - this includes COMAH and HMRC requirements.

2. Maintaining an awareness of the regulatory and Company standards that apply to the role such as HMRC, COMAH and H&S. COMAH specific - Understand and act in accordance with the Site Emergency Response Plan in the event of an evacuation or major incident, and regularly participate in COMAH improvement activity.

3. Performing all aspects of cask preparation including filling, bonding in warehouses, removing from warehouses and disgorging, ensuring that storage and replenishment of casks are met with stock control/HMRC regulations.

4. Moving full and empty casks as required. This includes the loading of full and empty casks to / from vehicles, and to / from warehouses.

5. Performing bar coding duties, accurately operating the readers and undertaking the application and removal of labels.

6. Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across the warehousing site (on own initiative and as directed).

7. Reporting any defects on items of plant / equipment / fabric as well as any deviations from normal working practice to the Warehouse / CPU Team Leaders.

8. Reporting and setting aside all leaking / low dip casks.

9. Operation of cask stackers, hand trucks, barrel hoists, cask lifts and the disgorging plant as and where required.

10. Driving forklift trucks, tractors, and operating cask handling equipment and carrying out pre use checks as standard.

11. Being available for any other duties trained for on site within the operator's capabilities as directed.
