
Installation Supervisor
About the role
Our client is currently recruiting an Installation Supervisor to carry out and supervise all mechanical work and site installations associated with all equipment complying to safe procedures detailed by the business.
Please note this role requires extensive travel to customer's sites within the Europe and Middle East region with periods away from home of up to six weeks at a time.
THIS ROLE CAN BE BASED ANYWHERE IN UK.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation of food process and conveying equipment including
- Supervise Ingress and Egress equipment to the customer factories.
- Supervise large equipment Lifts, these can be internal lifts using site equipment or large contract crane lifts. i.e. Lifting equipment in and out of site through roof access
- Read and interpret Site layout drawings
- Supervise and lead a Customers Team of Mechanical Engineering fitters and welders to ensure the successful installation of all equipment.
- Assist in assembly of equipment.
- Mechanical repairs to pumps, motors conveyors etc
- Work with other engineering disciplines (Electrical and Commissioning) to deliver a successful project
- Tackle layout issues head on, be able to identify and implement mechanical solutions
- Establish the root cause of any mechanical issues on site and offer workable solutions for both company and the customer.
- Provide technical support for customers over the phone
- Provide assistance to customers on emergency breakdowns. This could include short notice travel to sites
- Create Method Statements and Risk Assessments prior to beginning site work
- Ability to work unsociable hours, including nightshift to deal with urgent site work and meet client demand
- Assist Commissioning Engineer as required.
- Comply with all health and safety, quality assurance and all other company policies and procedures
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Mechanical Engineer, with recognised mechanical trade qualifications
- Experience in welding and sheet metal work
- Experience in large equipment moves, ideally in a food processing environment
- Lifting and Slinging experience
- Recognised Health and Safety Qualification
- Good communicator
- Good electrical understanding
- Strong leadership on site
- Familiar with CE and Health and Safety requirements
- Familiar with the Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel etc)
- Be flexible in their approach to work
- Break down complex problems into component parts and organise the parts in a systematic way (analytical thinking).
- Understands, interprets and responds in a clear and concise manner (interpersonal understanding).
