Engineering Project Manager
Location: Leven, Scotland
Contract: Fixed-Term Contract until 30 September 2027
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to lead the delivery of CAPEX projects within a manufacturing and industrial environment. The successful candidate will manage projects from concept through to commissioning and handover, ensuring delivery against safety, quality, cost and schedule objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
Lead capital projects through the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and design through to installation, commissioning and handover.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising activities based on risk and business requirements.
Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules and risk mitigation strategies.
Control project scope, manage change requests and prevent cost or schedule overruns.
Provide regular progress updates and maintain robust project documentation.
Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned and adoption of best practices.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Champion a strong safety culture across all project activities.
Ensure compliance with construction and industrial safety regulations, including CDM, machine safety and COMAH requirements.
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
Work closely with site teams, contractors and suppliers to maintain the highest safety standards.
Technical & Engineering Leadership
Apply engineering expertise to develop practical, cost-effective solutions for industrial applications.
Translate operational requirements into technical specifications and project scopes.
Manage engineering consultants, contractors and external design partners.
Lead design reviews and ensure installations meet quality, safety and regulatory standards.
Oversee commissioning and validation activities to ensure successful project delivery.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, sustainability and operational performance.
Stakeholder & Commercial Management
Build strong relationships with operations, leadership teams, contractors and suppliers.
Manage supplier performance across safety, quality, cost and delivery metrics.
Support contract administration, procurement activities and commercial negotiations.
Develop and manage project budgets, cashflow forecasts and business case evaluations.
Ensure stakeholders are informed of project progress, risks and key milestones.
Skills & Experience
3-5 years' experience managing engineering projects within a manufacturing, FMCG, process or industrial environment.
Proven track record of delivering capital projects safely, on time and within budget.
Strong project management, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Microsoft 365 applications and MS Project.
Working knowledge of SAP and AutoCAD preferred.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
Technical Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
Electrical infrastructure, switchgear, motor control and inverter systems.
Operational Technology (OT), industrial networking, PLC, SCADA and HMI platforms.
IT/OT integration projects and OT cybersecurity risk management.
Brownfield and greenfield infrastructure or network upgrade projects.
Process and packaging equipment integration.
Working knowledge of ISA-95 and ISA-88 standards.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, Process or CE&I Engineering, or HNC/HND with relevant industry experience.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) desirable.
APM PMQ or equivalent Project Management qualification, or willingness to work towards.
NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent health and safety qualification preferred.
