Warehouse Operator

Are you looking for a hands-on role within a fast-paced warehouse and production environment? We are seeking a motivated Warehouse Operator to support the maturing and processing of spirit, ensuring production targets and customer expectations are achieved safely and efficiently.

The Role

As a Warehouse Operator, you will play a key role in the safe handling, movement, storage, and processing of casks. Working closely with the Production Manager and wider operations team, you will ensure daily schedules are completed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely stow and de-stow casks within the warehouse.
  • Select, move and position casks efficiently.
  • Plan and organise loads to maximise operational efficiency.
  • Fill and empty casks with spirit in line with operational procedures.
  • Operate manual handling equipment and warehouse machinery.
  • Use semi-automated cask handling systems and equipment.
  • Ensure the safe handling of flammable liquids in accordance with company policies and COMAH/DSEAR requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets and customer service requirements.

Successful Candidate

Essential

  • Cask Handling experience
  • Experience working within a warehouse, logistics, manufacturing or production environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic IT and PC skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety procedures.

Preferred

  • Counterbalance Forklift Licence.
  • DSEAR qualification or awareness.
  • Basic Food Handling qualification.
  • Experience operating warehouse handling equipment.

Training Provided

Successful candidates will receive training in:

  • Manual handling of casks.
  • Cask inspection procedures.
  • Operation of cask filling and dumping equipment.
  • Safe pallet stowing techniques.
  • Warehouse evacuation procedures.
  • Basic IT systems.
  • Health & Safety and manual handling.
  • Teamworking and operational best practices.

Working Hours

Core: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm, Friday 7:30am to 10:30am, and

Twilight: Monday to Thursday 9:15am to 7pm, off Friday.

Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the business.

Working Environment

This is a physically active role that involves working both indoors and outdoors. Candidates should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and carrying out manual handling duties safely.
