Quantity Surveyor

Brightwork recruitment are partenering with a Civil Engineering firm in Scotland and are currently recruiting for two Quantity Surveyor's, one in Perth and one in Edinburgh. This will be a full time permanent contract and an exciting oppertunity to work on major projects and contracs.

 

Responsibilities: 

▪Ensure that the correct measurement and valuation principles are applied.

▪Manage the measurement and valuation process for all operations and services undertaken by the company.

▪Deputise for the Commercial Director in relation to Quantity Surveying matters.

▪Maximise value return from all operations undertakenincluding planned and reactive maintenance and Professional Services.

▪Drive for value for money and efficiencysavings.

▪Management and administration of sub-contractors accounts including ensuring appropriate contractual arrangement are implemented.

▪Assisting with the preparationand reviewing of the monthly financial accounts.

▪Reporting on the financial aspects of the various contracts overseen.

▪Management and co-ordination of the pricing/bidding and valuation of works to clients for specialist maintenance operations.

▪Calculation of new rate submissions.

▪Manage Work in Progress reporting and resolution.

▪Ensuring measurement documentation is available to substantiate valuations submitted for payment.

 
The candidate:
 
▪Qualification in Quantity Surveying typically at degree/chartered level.
 
▪Experience in the construction industry is essential.
 
▪A full approved UK driving licence.▪Proficientin the use of Microsoft Office packagesand CCMS.
 
▪Experience of working to tight deadlines and working under pressure.
 
▪Ability to work effectively in a team.
 
▪Good communication skills.
 
▪Ability to problem solve.
 
▪Flexible to working practices.
 
▪Capable to self manage work and self motivate.
 
▪Ability to cope with change
